The Adventure Begins

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Julia, and I am a mother of two.

Being a mother was not something that I had in mind for myself and my life. I had elaborate plans, definite ideas about my life and the direction and course that it would follow. Perhaps it was fate, perhaps destiny, perhaps carelessness…the truth is, the reasons my plans derailed are unimportant. There was something far better, far sweeter, and far more chaotic in store for my life that I never imagined. Being a parent is truly an everyday adventure. Sometimes it’s the most natural thing in the world, and sometimes it’s a hair-pulling, fighting, yelling, Momma-needs-a-glass-of-wine challenge that cannot be won. Being a parent is not an easy task, but it can still be lighthearted and fun. This blog will be made of stories. It will be funny at times, serious at others. It will express joys and frustrations, tenderness and irritations. It might make you laugh, it might make you cry. This is a blog about my adventure as a parent, about my two children, and about the moments that make it all worthwhile.
